Chlorinated rubber is a kind of chlorinated polymer prepared by the reaction of natural rubber and chlorine. Industrial products are white or light yellow powder, non-toxic and tasteless, with a chlorine content of 65% ± 2 and an average relative molecular weight of 5000-20000. They are easily soluble in aromatic hydrocarbons, halogenated hydrocarbons, ethers, esters, petroleum solvents, ketones (except acetone) and other organic solvents, and can be miscible with alkyd resins, epoxy resins, phenolic resins, polyurethane and other synthetic resins, and insoluble in aliphatic hydrocarbons, alcohols and water.
Due to the high content of chlorine atoms in the C-C main chain of chlorinated rubber and its ring structure, it has many excellent application properties:
1. The molecular chain structure is saturated and does not contain active groups such as double bonds, so it has stable chemical properties and excellent corrosion resistance, and can withstand the corrosion of acid-base, salt, chlorine, H2S, SO2 and other corrosive chemicals;
2. CL group has mould proof and flame retardant properties, so the products have mould proof and flame retardant properties;
3. C-Cl bond has strong polarity, so it has good adhesion on the surface of steel, aluminum alloy, cement, wood and other materials;
4. With C-C main chain, it is a rubber modified product, so it has good compatibility with natural rubber, neoprene, nitrile rubber and other rubbers;
5. It has a ring structure, so the adhesion, flame retardancy, oil resistance and elastic modulus of the product can be improved;
6. Micro decomposition above 125 ºC, no softening and combustion above 200 ºC, with good heat resistance.

It can be used as a modifier for adhesives, high-grade inks and other products to improve adhesion, corrosion resistance, flame retardancy, wear-resistant parts, etc. Store in a cool, ventilated, dry warehouse, away from moisture.
High viscosity is mainly used in anti-corrosion coatings and fire retardant coatings as a replacement resin for chlorosulfonated polyethylene.
Medium viscosity can be used as a special resin for steel anti-corrosion coatings and surface coatings for buried pipelines.
Low viscosity Due to its low viscosity, it is compatible with acrylic resin and alkyd resin, and can be used as a special resin for anti-corrosion coatings, container coatings, road marking coatings, and buried surface coatings. pipeline. Due to the regular molecular structure of chlorinated rubber, low saturation, low polarity, and good chemical stability, various anti-corrosion coatings prepared with it have the characteristics of fast drying, good adhesion, resistance to chemical media, and excellent moisture permeability resistance.
It has excellent resistance to atmospheric aging and chemical media, is easily soluble in aromatic hydrocarbons, esters, ketones and other organic solvents, and has good compatibility with most inorganic and organic pigments used in coatings. It is generally suitable for dissolving into a resin solution with a solid content of 40% for painting.
